Club Med Québec Charlevoix, un concept architectural Québécois

The Massif of Charlevoix
is something completely exceptional, which cannot be found anywhere else in the world. It is this relationship between the mountain and the river. The viewpoints on the river and the mountain have influenced everything regarding our vision of the project. The first idea was about framing different oriented views based on the natural surroundings. The shape of the building may remind us of some ice banks that can be found on the St. Lawrence River, overlapping and taking different orientations. The project is very contemporary, but it doesn’t lose the cultural codes and traditions of Quebec. We wanted it to relate to traditional
elements of Quebec’s architecture such as wood, stone and Canadian sheet metal; as well as taking certain elements that were
specific to the Quebec houses, such as the gallery and the six-tile window. We have also integrated an important
element of Quebec’s culture, which is the arrowhead sash.
It reveals the identity of the project, which comes from the traditional
Quebec and Métis’ costumes. At the same time, the colors of the Resort come
directly from the surrounding nature. It is thanks to all those little details,
as unnoticeable as they are, that people will live a very
unique and authentic experience.
