Helping a Non-Profit Sporting Club Grow

My name is Jade and I’m studying
business and sports management. When I first thought of studying online I was
thinking oh this is going to be me, on my own, bored, it’s gonna be all textbooks.
And then I jump onto the degree program and it’s interactive, there’s people
there all the time to chat with. It’s visual, it’s auditory, it’s reading, it’s
everything a great learning experience all in one. I chose to study this course
because I wanted to better educate myself for our not-for-profit
organization. We have a great program we’ve initiated called Rugby-Plus. Rugby-Plus helps youth and Pacific Islanders by giving them an opportunity to believe
in themselves, and teaching about life skills. For example, in the game of rugby
there’s certain skills that are on the field such as perseverance, teamwork, self-discipline, characteristics that we need in our everyday life. The impact that
studying online with Swinburne has had on my life, has given me the ability to
say I’m much stronger than I thought I was.
