Its On Us: Sexual Assault PSA GVSU for Greek Life/Club Sports

Gender-based violence which include:
sexual assault, dating, or domestic violence, and stalking. Are matters that
the Grand Valley State University community take seriously. These acts are
against the law and against GVSU’s misconduct policy. We urge you, as a member of our community to join
your fellow Lakers; it’s on us to create a community that is free of gender based
violence. It’s on us, to not give our friends a pass on sexual violence. To be more than a bystander in our communities. To change the way we
speak about women. To act when we see or hear dating, or domestic violence. To take stalking seriously, and keep all students safe. It’s on us to make sexual assault a men’s
issue because sexual assault affects more than just women. It’s on us, to not look the other way. To stand up to those who tell us don’t worry about it. To stop our friends if they are doing
something that may lead to sexual assault. It’s on us to take action. To create a community where we all feel safe and are safe. It’s on us to do something. To learn and educate each other on what consent is and what
consent is not. To never ever blame the victim. To support all survivors. It’s on
us to live our values. To watch out for those who have had too
much to drink. To get our friend’s home safe. To be the leaders and fixing this
problem. It’s on us. It’s on us to stand up. At Grand Valley State
University it’s on us to end sexual violence. I’m a member of the Laker community; the club sports
community. It’s on us to end sexual violence. To learn more and get involved reach out to Men in Action, React, Eyes
